Terms of service

These terms govern your use of the Linguana website, dashboard, APIs, hosted translation, and related services (the Service). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you can accept these terms for it, and "you" means that organization.

The open-source SDK packages are licensed separately under the licenses published with each package. These terms apply to the hosted Service.

• You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for activity in your organization, including actions by members you invite and by project tokens you create.
• Keep credentials and tokens secret. Tell us promptly at security@linguana.dev if you believe an account or token has been compromised.
• You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

Your content is the source text, translations, glossaries, and other material you or your applications send to the Service. You keep all rights to it. You grant us a limited license to host, process, translate, and deliver it only as needed to provide the Service to you.

Translations produced by the Service belong to you. We do not use your content to train machine learning models, and we instruct our translation providers not to either.

You are responsible for having the rights to the content you submit and for reviewing translations before you publish them. Machine translation can contain errors.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful, infringing, deceptive, or harmful content.
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service except through our responsible disclosure process.
• Interfere with the Service, bypass usage limits, or access it by means other than the documented interfaces.
• Resell the Service or use it to build a competing translation service.

We may suspend access that puts the Service, other customers, or the public at risk. Where reasonable, we will tell you first.

The Free plan includes 50,000 newly translated characters each month. Pro is $19 per organization each month with 2,000,000 credits included, then $8 per million newly translated target characters. Current prices are on the pricing page; Enterprise pricing is set in a separate order form.

• Payments are processed by Polar, our merchant of record, which may add applicable taxes.
• Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. Usage is billed in arrears for the previous period.
• Every translation run shows its estimate first. Runs that would exceed a spend limit you set do not start.
• Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period.
• We will give at least 30 days' notice before raising prices for an existing subscription.

We work to keep the Service available and may change, add, or remove features over time. Published catalogs are versioned so a change on our side does not silently alter what your users see. We will give reasonable notice before removing a feature you rely on. Uptime commitments, where offered, are set in an Enterprise agreement.

You may stop using the Service and delete your organization at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms and do not fix it after notice, or immediately where required by law. After termination you can export your content for 30 days, after which we delete it as described in the privacy policy.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that translations will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any purpose.

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Each party's total liability arising from these terms is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply to your payment obligations or to liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will notify organization owners by email or in the dashboard at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are the entire agreement between us about the Service, unless you have signed a separate agreement, which takes precedence. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
